October 30, 2267 & ED Year 4 Days 318-319

When Alex stepped out of his VR pod on the 30th, he just smiled as he went through the normal routine of kissing and hugging all five of his ladies before they all headed downstairs. Only today it was just Ava, Mia, Sam and Nicole who made their way downstairs as Kate and Alex hung back and made their way to her room instead. As they did so, Alex smiled to himself as he thought about how it was the only room of the four that he wasn’t intimately familiar with due to other activities. That said, he also wasn’t a complete stranger in it either as he had come in and out to get Kate more than once, but he had never spent more than a minute inside at any one time until now. As such many details had simply gone unnoticed to him before now, like just how minimalist everything was, yet everything in it was more expensive than what any of the other four had bought. Alex was just taking in Kate’s maple wood desk as she spoke.

“So, you said that you wanted to start our day as just us in here. Now what did you have in mind?”

“Simple, I want to have some time for us to simply talk before I take you out for the day.”

“I feel so loved. Alex, we talk all the time.”

“Kate, I mean about things that don’t concern the prosperity of FAE, or the issues regarding your former family. I simply want to enjoy a conversation that has no stakes.”

“Alex, you know as well as I do that such a conversation has higher stakes than any other. After all, emotions can be a messy and illogical thing and I still haven’t forgiven you for making me feel them whenever I look at you.”

“Oh, and just what do you feel when you look at me?” asked Alex with a smile as he moved closer to Kate and took her into his arms.

“Sorry, but there is no way that I would ever tell you about how my heart beats ever so slightly faster, or how I start to worry if my hair looks good and if I remembered my perfume. That would be a tad bit too honest, so instead I will just say that you make me smile and I start to think of all the ways I can bend you to my will but won’t.”

“You are always scheming even when you will never act on the scheme. So tell me, what scheme are you not acting on today?”

“None. After all, today is my birthday and I will happily make you bend to my will for at least one day.”

“Oh? Perhaps I should just start running now before I am forever trapped by you.”

“Nope, you are over nine months too late for that. After all, you lost the moment I set my heart on you and not just my bank balance.”
